CAMPAIGN: ZAKAT ELIGIBLE
Rescue the Rohingya
Aid for the Rohingya Families still living in IDP camps inside Myanmar, Burma.
Our team hand-delivers aid to the Rohingya people living in internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, and to those who are unregistered for Aid.
Delegates from the UK will participate in delivering aid, moral support, document situations (atrocities), research needs, plan long-term sustainable projects, visit local schools and most of all putt a smile on people’s faces to bring back hope and security.
“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. (Muslim)
Our aim is to bring back hope in people’s lives

Rescue the Rohingya is a project that has been done for many years. This project brings hope and aspiration to the needy and destitute living inside IDP camps.
The Rohingya people have faced decades of systematic discrimination, statelessness and targeted violence in Rakhine State, Myanmar. Such persecution has forced Rohingya women, girls, boys and men into Bangladesh for many years, with significant spikes following violent attacks in 1978, 1991-1992, and again in 2016. Yet it was August 2017 that triggered by far the largest and fastest refugee influx into Bangladesh. Since then, an estimated 745,000 Rohingya—including more than 400,000 children—have fled into Cox’s Bazar.
In Myanmar, entire villages were burned to the ground, families were separated and killed, and women and girls were gang raped. Most of the people who escaped were severely traumatised after witnessing unspeakable atrocities. These people found temporary shelter in refugee camps around Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, which is now home to the world’s largest refugee camp.
Currently there are approximately 600,000 Rohingya are still inside Myanmar “living under threat of genocide, with a limited access to food, clean water and an education.
